Dear Colleagues and Students,
To cope with the University’s sustainable development, the University has examined the organizational structure and functions of CMDO, the redeployment of its sub-units is implemented based on the functions and fields of work. After the re-organization, the structure will be changed from “One Office and Five Sections” to “One Office and Four Sections”, with two main scopes of functions: the technical aspects including campus construction, facilities management and maintenance, and the management aspects including campus management services with logistic support services. The functions of “Campus Development” and “Campus Management” are better reflected after the re-organization. The names and functions of the sub-units of CMDO are listed below:
Construction and Facilities Maintenance Section (CFM): Responsible for campus construction and renovation projects, campus facilities maintenance and quantity surveying, etc.
Electrical and Mechanical Section (EMS): Responsible for air-conditioning facilities maintenance, electromechanical system management, electrical maintenance, fire services, warehouse management, etc.
Campus Services Section (CSS): Responsible for campus cleaning services, space allocation, landscape and waterbody management, audio-visual equipment, campus venue facilities, mail dispatch, printing service, outlets, as well as catering services management, etc.
Security and Facilities Services Section (SFS): Responsible for security services, transport and parking management, staff quarters management, furniture and moving services, etc.

Construction and Facilities Maintenance Section
UM Campus Construction and Renovation Project
- Large scale projects such as construction works of laboratories, Residential Colleges, Staff Quarters and public facilities, etc.;
- Small scale projects such as renovation works of offices, classrooms, etc.
UM Campus Facilities Repairs and Maintenance
- Building interior renovation facilities, such as ceilings, floorings, walls, doors and windows, and water drainage facilities etc.;
- Municipal roads and outdoor civil engineering facilities, such as pavements, driveways, corridors, railings, fencing and sewage system etc.

Electrical and Mechanical Section
Repair, regular inspection and maintenance of electrical facilities
- Power supply sockets, electrical switchboard, main electrical switchboard (QGBT), generators, power cables and bus bar, PV (Photovoltaic) panels, lightning system and earthing system, etc.
Repair, regular inspection and maintenance of various electromechanical facilities
- Lighting system and control facilities
- Natural gas facilities
- Water supply equipment, hot water system, drinking fountains, pumping system and drainag
- Elevators and escalators
- Building management system, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), TV system, public address system, metering facilities and energy management systems
Repair, regular inspection and maintenance of HVAC
- Central district cooling system, central chiller plant, air-handling unit and primary air-handling unit
- Variable refrigerant volume (VRV) unit and split-type air-conditioner
- Heat pump units, large scale dehumidifiers and computer room air conditioning unit (CRAC)
- Ventilation system
Repair, regular inspection and maintenance of fire systems
- Fire hydrant and hose reel system, sprinkler system, fire detection and alarm control system, gaseous suppression system and equipment, fire shutter, smoke extraction system and fire extinguisher, etc.
